We are so excited to be a part of the alpaca community and this wonderful lifestyle. We investigated this business for about a year before we made our first purchase in January 2008. We spent countless hours on the internet and visited numerous farms to make sure this was right for us. We soon discovered that there was a farm located about 2 minutes down the road from where we were vacationing. Once we met the alpacas in person there was no denying that this would be the future life for us.
We purchased two pregnant females and a young male that we planned to show that year. We spent the next several years learning as much as possible about these beautiful animals. We're starting out agisting (boarding) our alpacas while the herd grows so we can take our time finding the right property to create a healthy and natural setting for our alpacas.
We are breeding show quality alpacas working towards improving their fiber so that each generation is finer and more dense than the last. We are breeding our females to the highest quality Herd Sires possible. So far our breeding program is heading in the right direction. See our Alpaca Page for more detail.
We are also very excited to announce that we finally found a farm that we are in contract with right now and should be closing on soon. It's located in Cochection NY not far away from where we currently agist. We should be moving our alpacas to our new farm in the spring 2012. We will also offer agisting to anyone who either needs a place to keep their alpacas while they're looking for property or if you want to be an agisting business.
If you would like more information about agisting please don’t hesitate to contact us. It really is a great way to get started in this business and not have to completely change your lifestyle. It’s like getting the best of both worlds!
