About Us
Hello, my name is Patty and my husband Tom and I live in Suffolk County on Long Island where we both grew up. Tom works for the Long Island Railroad with many years of experience in Mechanics and Machinery and I work for a Hybrid Circuit manufacturing company where I am a production planner. It has always been my dream to live and work on a farm of some sort although I have no experience in it.
I never thought that dream would come true until I stumbled upon a website about alpacas.
It all started when I was purchasing some holistic books for my dogs on amazon.com and at the bottom of the page it said "people who bought these books also bought these" and it gave me a list of books. One of the books was "The Secret". Well after reading that title I had to find out what the secret was so I purchased it.
For those of you who have never heard of it, it's about the law of attraction. The law of attraction in a nutshell is, what you think about you get. It tells you to create a vision board to hang the things you want in your life so you can look at them everyday. So I was working on one with my friend and she wanted a farm with sheep and she heard that Llamas where good guarding animals. So I typed "Llamas" in Google search to get some pictures for her to hang on her board and alpacas came up. I had no idea that they existed until that day but when I went on the website I was so intrigued by the lifestyle that I had to know more about them and by the law of attraction, the more I thought about them the more information came to me. I was on the internet every night investigating this business to see if it was right for me and I soon found out that it was.
It took about ten months of investigating to finally make the decision and in January 2008 we purchased two pregnant females and co-own a young male to start showing. It was the best purchase we ever made. Our plan is to have this business well under way in our retirement years which is not that far away.
This is me and my first cria born in June 2008 Harmony. She's a lovely rose gray girl. I just love her fuzzy head.
This is Tom feeding the the girls carrots at Rosehaven alpaca farm where we board our alpacas.
